Yea I saw you said 12.6 was your fastest ET so i started @ 105 and went up so you could see. So how fast do you plan on running? How high are you willing to rev 3rd gear because if you are only willing to rev to 6k as you stated, you would already be out of gear with 4.56s at your current speed... So unless you are willing to rev higher you only have room for 3 more mph.... Turn more rpms across the traps and you can get away with more gear.... You don't want to shift into OD during the 1/4.

First you pick the tire.
Then you pick the rear gear that puts you at your desired rpm in the traps.
Then you select 1st or 1st/2nd trans ratios based on chassis and power delivery.

Mic drop.

So everything i said can be summed up in the first 2 lines. lol
I've never been serious enough to want to change trans gears so I can't offer any help there. Just little street trucks over here....

So if i go with a 4.56 cant i just change my shift points ?

yes, but you will have to rev higher (and have the supporting mods to do it)

I was reading skeets info i think he went up to 7k maybe 6.5k would be ideal for my setup
