I have a 99 nbs 4.3l v6 and havent come up with many mods although i am looking for mostly worthwhile bolt-ons and they dont exist... most people tell me that our 4.3s dont respond well to boltons like the lsx v8s..... i have a k&n only and i rode in a friends 5.3 and said damn what a difference i gotta get one of these so i am saving for a v8 truck...dont know of a forced induction system for our v6s either.

as for the headers dont know of many, but shorties arent worth their weight in scrap metal, so i would go for long-tubes, if you can find any.

you can go to the local parts store and get some spark plug wires 8-9mm are the best.

just now thought of it BUT you could get a sts turbo kit for a v8 truck and if it doesn't fit just go have some pipes custom bent to work cuz it probably wont work or they would say that it would.

there is nothing wrong with the factory plugs or wires. there isnt really much you can do for the 4.3. probably the best performance mod for your truck would be to spray the dog **** out of it.

I had an '01 with a 4.3L and effective performance products are few and far between. You could probably adapt an S-10 4.3L supercharger kit to work, but by the time you're done with that, you could have swapped to a V8 for about the same price.

The 4.3 is a fine motor for what it is, but making a performance engine out of one is definitely an uphill battle.

i would say 4.10 posi maybe 3.73s if you are concerned with gas mileage.

headers - long tube headers have long tubes before they come together at the collector 95+% of the v8 trucks on here have them. do a search on them and you should come up with something... much more effecient than shorties

as for spray, you could probably get a way with around a 100 wet shot

nice lookin truck by the way

I have a 4.3L and with the little I have done to it It's alright well a little bit...sorta...

dont waste your time though. the only worth while thing to do is turbo it using all the parts from a syclone or typhoon....they are the same motors just 4.3T...even so you could just buy a v8 and if you wanted to turbo that you could have a much better motor making more power and then add a turbo onto it. But even with the a turbo set up from a syclone these motors still are not worth it. Ive asked "what can I do to my 4.3" so many times only to be told to buy a v8. So now guess what my questions are... what v8 should I buy? L98...5.3...5.7...Lt1...5.7Ls1...6.0.... and that Is a much better question to be asking than anything regarding a 4.3.... I just cant wait till I got the money to get rid of my 4.3
