You can romp on it after 4 OR 5 heat cycles. Definately change the fluid @ 500 miles and you should notice a huge difference from 3.42s to 4.11s HUGE

i've done the 3.42 to 4.10 swap multiple times and i dont ever feel a huge difference, at some speeds my 3.42s felt stronger... one thing thats weird is my truck would spin alot more with the 3.42s then with the 4.10s? i think the 3.42s would put me in lower rpm where the torques at and 4.10s just fly up to higher rpms where theirs more HP.

But intrinsically the 4.10s should be putting 20% more torque to the wheels at any given speed???

Maybe it could be because the 4.10s take more time to "spool up"?

I went from 3.08's to 4.10's, I was expecting a night and day difference, but there wasnt. Sure I could tell the difference, but it wasnt crazy all over the road that I thought if would be.

2-3 tenths in the 1/4.

Acceleration in the cab, is very subjective. Some people over exagerate as well.

I think its easy to over gear with stock cams and the low 1st gears the 60e's have.
Its like the engine just blows through the torque band and into the powerband, esp on the older engines like mine.

OR the lower gears like 3.73's 4.10's might put less load on the TC causing it to stall slightly lower, than say a higher 3.23 gear.

Mine 4.10's spun way worse than the 3.08's.

Drove it around a little more, nothing over 2500 rpm though as I'm still breaking in the gears (although I've read AAM gears are already heat treated to 1500 degrees from the factory as a break in). The best way I can describe the 4.10s is that the truck feels lighter. It's not the "direct" gain in low end that I would thought it would be. Oh well. On a positive note, driving around in the snow here I can already tell the Trutrac is far superior to the G80.
