Converter will not lock up till about 100 degrees. And some of the OE tunes unlock the converter when it gets into hot mode - have never understood that one.

I almost want to stroll back down there and drop some knowledge on that guy, but that would get me no where. In his eyes I'm just some punk kid, who thinks I know everything..

Thanks Chris, looks like ill be getting a box from you tomorrow!

And to add one more thought....some guys refer to lock up when they are really talking about the fluid coupling stage of the converter. It can be confusing.

Chris that is an interesting comment. Can you explain what you mean?

I'm not a converter guy by any means but in my head, it the fluid is too hot, and a slipping converter creates heat, why wouldn't you want it to be locked to give the fluid a chance to cool down? Not arguing with you at all. I'm just interested in why you don't agree with locking the converter..?

Yes, I agree with you. The OE tunes will unlock the converter when the fluid gets too hot. The very opposite of what you want. I am not sure which vehicles off the top of my head. But I remember looking over some tunes a few years ago and seeing that. Computer sees the fluid is to hot, which I think is in the 250 range. And it unlocks the converter???

Ohh looks like I read your post wrong. I thought you were saying the opposite. My stock tune kept the converter locked when the temp was high. Weird they would do the opposite in stock trim..

Ups dropped my converter off today and about 4 hours later it was in. Everything seems to be working fine, and it definitely locks up, actually sooner then I want it too. But I'll be getting another tune here shortly after the cam.

My only other concern is that I didn't actually check the instructions that came with it, because I didn't notice them right away. I installed the converter without checking the clearances, but I don't hear any weird noises, or feel any issues. Is it normal to not need the supplied spacers, or are these a "just incase" type deal for when yours is out of the norm. Also, 150 miles before I can play with it right? Thanks

I've never understood the hot unlock thing either. Seems pretty counterproductive. All the stock tunes I've looked at, the TCC is disabled until 75*
