Default 3000 stall too much yank

Hi. I got a 09 silverado 5.3 4l60 with a yank 3000 stall. It definitely woke the truck up but now I feel like its too loose. I had it tuned with the stall in it. Before I bought it everyone was saying it drove like stock but mine feels far from stock. It's very annoying trying to drive slow or on the highway when it unlocks every time I let off then revs up to almost 3000 then relocks. It definitely made my truck a lot faster but sacrificed city driving. What would you guys recommend? I'm looking for something more tame but not like the stock converter. The stock converter was horrible. You would never know I was flooring it until 30mph.

Idk what to tell you buddy. I have the 9.5" Yank SS3600 and I freaking love it. Gears will tighten that stall right up. What gears do you run now?

I have never heard of a yank being loose. My yank 3200 is tight as a banjo string, lol..

Get a video, curious to see what it's doing. Sounds like it might be something in the tune that could be adjusted also

I think you might have a issue with the tune. Sounds like the TCC solenoid threshold may have been adjusted. Might try to talk with a tuner on here about your complaint.

I drive a loose-*** 4200 Vigilante. I daily drive said loose-*** stall. While it does unlock at 0 throttle, I don't see it climbing much above lock speed before it relocks at cruising throttle. Of course, if you lead-foot it during the unlock cycle, it will rev up until the load balances again.

Oh, and I get lockup at 20MPH. Didn't sacrifice much in-city at all!

Looks like I need to mess with the tuning some more I had a professional tuner play with it but I feel like there's more that can be done. On the highway every time I let of it unlocks then when I get back on it flares to 2800 Rpms then locks back down to 2000. I was reading that the t42 cannot keep it locked on decel but on a trail blazer ss forum someone was talking about a custom os for the t42 that makes a stall converter way more drivable. I had an old Tahoe I had tuned that had a tbi and the prom chips and was able to set a mph that the converter would not unlock unless at wot or touching the brakes. I liked it it felt like a standard

My 9.5" yank is loose as hell too. I am running 3.42's right now for highway driving so that doesn't help at all. If you want a tighter stall, you need to go with a bigger converter. Something like a well built 278mm converter will drive like stock until you hammer it. I've never really liked how loose my converter is so I know exactly where you are coming from.

Is that a 9.5 Vig or a 10.5" Vig?

A 4200rpm stall is going to be loose for daily driving.

What does it flash to, or what does it foot stall to?
Thanks
