3" shackles do exist. i have them on my truck, but they are currently adjusted to 2". they are belltech shackles. i want to say that they are made for HD trucks. and im not sure if they make them anymroe. some bending/cutting is necessary on stepsides. not sure about fleet.

Stewart. Glad I saw this. You have the 3" shackles on your truck. Belltech still makes them, they are part # 6403. I was thinking about picking up a set for my 07+ NNBS. Right now I am running off brand 2" shackles, but the rear is still about 1" taller than the front. I contacted Belltech and they said they would only fit the HD's but their website also said that all the other shackles would fit all the other trucks too so I found it hard to believe that the 3" wouldn't work on the half tons. Although it may throw the angles way off, IDK.....

But you can confirm they will mate up to the half ton leaf packs? Might require a lil bit of work, but I bet they could work.

Yes of course they do exist, but not for our trucks. The reason why the 2500hd trucks can fit a 3" shackle is that their frame is about 1.5" taller than the factory 1500 frame. I'm not sure how much you cut, but I don't see how in hell they could fit on a fleetside truck having done 10+ shackle swaps.

why couldnt you use the 2" shackles, and then remove the 1" lift block under your leaf springs for an additional 1" drop?

Because the truck most likely doesn't have a lift block under it!

Stepsides must by much different then because I had right around 1" between the top of my shackle and the bed and like I said earlier a 1" longer shackle does not equal 1" lower truck.

I'll have to look at my NNBS. I think I've got more clearance under the bed than the NBS because the high point of the ribs on the bed are located just above the shackle bolts if not mistaken. There is a lap joint where the bed is put together right there beside that, but if the u-bolts at the axle are removed that can be manuvered around.

Might not work, might not even be worth the effort to try, but I can look into it.
