3.73's
#1
Im considering some 3.73's for my truck.
My brother and his friend says if i mess with the rear end in my truck that it wont ride the same. (true?)
And how much time in a 1/8th or 1/4th would i shed.
Will my gas mileage suffer badly?
Will i be able to take Ford Lightnings.

"My brother and his friend says if i mess with the rear end in my truck that it wont ride the same. (true?)" False, your truck will nun the same or even better if you get new bearings and if your gears are properly installed.
"And how much time in a 1/8th or 1/4th would i shed." Based on what I have seen, about .1-.2 10th's.
"Will my gas mileage suffer badly?" No, It will get better... I went from 3.23 to 4.10 and I feel my milege suffer at speeds over 70-75 mph.
"Will i be able to take Ford Lightnings"
2nd Gen 99+ Will still be pulling on you pretty bad.

I am getting better highway mileage going from 3.42's to 4.10's but my city mileage is suffering because I can't keep my foot out of it...
It was a very noticeable and much liked improvement! Some people have seen up to .5 tenths from gear change, just depends what you are going from and to...
