Default 2006 silverado 1500 questions

Hi, I just bought a 2006 Silverado 1500 4x4 with 18000 miles. It has the pushbutton 4x4 select. When it is in auto, the anti lock brakes kick in right before the truck stops. It doesn't do it in 2 wheel drive. also, I put it in 4high ( arrow points up) and it feels like something is holding it back, like driving with the e brake on. Any suggestions before I talk to the dealer. The 3/36 factory warranty ran out on 12-8-08. Thanks.

It sounds like it could be that the previous owner changed the rear ring and pinion to a different ratio without changing the front also. Gear changes not corrected in the PCM programming will cause ABS problems, what's odd is that the ABS warning light isn't on in the cluster.
