Go with http://www.mcgaughys.com/ spindles. yes if you have 17's they will work without cutting anything. You could get away with the stock shocks up front since it's only a 2" drop but you'll need the rears so you will be better off buying all 4 drop shocks, they are valved for a lowered truck. Doetsch Tech , Bilstein or Edelbrock are all good shocks.

Stock shocks suck, replace them. 454ss had good recommendations depending on you goals.

I have the mcgaughy's spindles w/ 17 Escalade wheels. You should be fine with your factory 17s. I didn't need drop shocks in the front. From my understanding, the 2" drop spindles don't change geometry but just shift your front suspension up 2". My truck rides great in the front with the factory length shocks. I'm still trying to figure out how to keep from bottoming out in the rear. One question for you, do you have ecsb or rcsb?

The only way to stop the bottoming out is to C notch it...most guys I know with NBS trucks with 2-4 drops end up doing it.

Here is a pic of my truck with the escalade wheels on it. I also have smaller tires on the wheels so i end up having more fender gap.

You don't have to notch it. I have 2/4 and put Air lift slam air helper bags.
I never bottom out. The back of the truck even rides smoother with them.
