Default 2/3.5 Drop Sierra 4x4

Hey guys,

I know you'll probably think it's sacreligious or something, but I want to lower my truck, a 2002 GMC sierra. It is a 4x4 Z71 edition. Raising it is out because if I even put a 2 inch lift on it, it won't fit in my garage anymore. I'm getting 22's for it in a few months, and I was planning on doing a small 6 inch lift with some big all terrain tires. Now that's out, so I'm going to go lowpros and mabe lower it. My main question is, how badly will the lowering kit affect drivability? The kit is a 2/3.5 McGonaghys(sp?) Drop with shackles, torsion keys and blocks. It's meant for the 4x4's.

Thanks!

Do a search. Quite a few of us have dropped our 4x4's, for our own particular reasons. I did a spindle drop front/ shackels and hangars rear. If anything, handling has improved a bit.

I would suggest the Mcgaughys front 2' spindle and rear schakle/hanger kit.

Or the Hotchkis kit is just as good but they do springs for the front.

I saw a kit on ebay that had the fron and rear in a combo for like 250 ish USD. Looking on the Mcgaughys site I don't see packages.

I'll check out the hotchkis stuff, thanks!

I am probably going to lower my truck soon also. I heard from my buddy who works at 4-wheel parts that they use 1/2 ton keys to raise or level the 3/4 ton trucks. so were thinking 3/4 ton keys should lower the 1/2 tons. He told me they are definately clocked different. as soon as I get some on I'll let you know how they work.
