Question 2/2 drop for SS'

How come the SS' have a 2/2 drop kit that makes em look like a 2/4? Do they have different leaf springs or something?

I believe that they don't have the 2" lift blocks in the rear that the 4x4's have...the SS already has a lower stance from the factory

Yeah but if I did a 2/2 on my 2wheel drive rcsb it'd lean forward pretty bad? The guy's truck I saw looked level, I'm confused, thanks for input.

the SS's are level from the factory, whereas the normal 2wd and 4wd truck have a 2" rake from the factory for towing ability, the SS isnt meant for heavy towing

So how'd they get level? I'm thinking about lowering mine bout 1/3 to keep towing, but I was wondering if I could use ss springs if they were lower/available.

Yup they have "a 2 stage Z60 suspension". I think they got different springs and prolly expensive from gm. **** on that idea!

SSS trucks only have about an inch or maybe 1.5" of rake from the factory...that's why alot of guys just do shackles on them to get level. I parked next to an '03 at the dealer one day, and the rear of my truck was the same height as it (lift blocks removed on mine) and the front of mine was about an inch higher (I'm level with the rear). I'm at 36" ground to fender with the Esky's and 265/70s. SSSs are just decranked Z71s, really..no rear lift block (same springs), lighter-rated t-bars in the front, and diff. shocks. They can still tow...I'm 99% sure they have the same 7K rating as any other 1/2 ton 4WD truck.

Oh, so when they do a 2/2 they are really getting down to 2 wheel drive height, maybe a little less? So it'd be like doing a 1/3 on a 2 wheel drive correct?
