Pack a lunch my friend, this man knows what he is talking about. Took me about 2 hour or so a side. Once you think you got it, you need to keep grinding. I put grease on the rim, then installed it and rotated. Then grind where it rubs grease on the caliper.

Yes sir, I have done it as well on both my trucks, not too bad the second time tho lol. It prolly took me 1.5 hours to do both sides on my black truck as i knew about how much to cut, just grind it, paint the caliper, test fit repeat. And after you put it on and dont rub any paint off, grind it more because the weight of the truck on hard launch will scrub, also, its a good idea to replace rear pads right before you do it so you wont have that problem later as i did....................

I tried and gave up after an hour. I wish that the tire manufactures would just make bigger meat in 16"! Its not like a V8 car or truck has been built in the last 20 that didn't come with 16" wheels stock...

I want to narrow and run either a 3 5/16 or 3.5 backspace. Would that then help reduce amount of grinding you think?

Yes it will reduce the amount you have to grind, but your going to have to check how much you can narrow your rear before the caliper hits the leaf springs.
