Question 07' NBS 1500 5.3L 1-2 Shift Issue

I have this 07' NBS Crew cab with a 5.3L. It has around 85K miles on it.
Anyways I notice that when I WOT to where it will automatically kick down into 1st and shift to second it shifts really odd. When in 1st gear and the rpm's approach the shift point, almost all power is pulled back (full 1-2sec), then it shifts into 2nd gear, and power slowly begins to be applied.
WTF is this?
All remaining shifts are normal, if you manually shift from 1-2 it shifts and power is normal.
What is causing this behavior?

Jim

That sounds like torque management, or the band is on it's way south.

It doesnt slip at all. Cuz like i said, I can shift it manually at WOT and it shifts nice a firm. It just doesnt want to do it on its own.
Kind of like torque management, but more like when the traction control gets activated and it takes a while for full power to come back in. That would be the best way to describe it.
This thing is all stock, so no mods here to interfere with normal operations.
It did have a check engine light on for a day, but then it went away and hasnt returned.
I had it checked and it said TPS malfunction. Then later that evening it went off and never came back on.
Anyone else want to take a stab at this?

If its stock how do you know it isn't just the TM getting in the way of your fun?

Because it didnt do it before.
It feels like you actually went from WOT to idle before it shifts while the pedal is still fully depressed to the floor.
It takes at least 3 seconds before it fully resumes to the WOT input.
One way or the other, if it's TM, it wouldnt matter if you shifted manually or let it do it on its own. TM is and will always be present no matter which method is used unless the ECU is programmed with an X amount of TM removed or 100% removed.
Something electronically has to be the culpret, but I need to know what sensor or part would be causing it.

Moderator,

Delete this thread as I added it to the drivetrain section.
