Default 06 disc brake conversion residual pressure/adjustable proportioning valve question?

Wanting to do the disc conversion on my 06 Silverado (purely out of aesthetic purposes). I have researched for days on several different forums and it seems to me that the problem everyone runs into is the residual pressure. Drums need 10psi if I am correct and the disc about 2. I read several different posts where person x swapped over the abs unit, master cylinder etc, which I find slightly useless as I will be doing the hydroboost swap later on. I was wondering if i could just leave all of that and put in an adjustable proportioning valve?? I can get a complete rear axle with all the cables and lines for 250 dollars with 65,000 miles on it. Will cost me 179.99 for 2 new drums and Wagner shoes, even with my oreilly employee discount.
