Default 05 4dr 1500 bouncing!!!

borrowed my moms truck for a road trip. my 6.0 doesnt get the milage her 5.3 gets, and her 4 door had more storage space.
truck drives great, but it seems to float all over the place. if you are on the interstate and pavement changes, or you come off a concrete bridge back to pavement, the truck just kinda hopes up and down. its not controlled.
some instances you have to correct wheel position to keep the truck going in the right path.
the worst part of the drive was through birmingham, AL. if youve ever driven up I-65, that leg is mostly concrete and known not to be smooth, but i was almost getting dizzy at times with both hands on the wheel.
it wasnt out of control, but not a very good ride at all.

ive rode and driven other model 1500 trucks and they were comfy and drove great.
im starting to wonder if its the springs, or the shocks worn or failed.

anyone have similar experiences?
im leaning towards just putting shocks on the truck and see how it goes.
monroe offers several units, any suggestions?
my mom drives like a grandma. truck only has 22K on the clock and still looks and smells new.
its not been offroad, or beat on in anyway.

edit. i forgot to add she thought the factory tires were the ride problem and she replaced them with firestone destination LE tires. hook up from a friend at a tire store. i would have put something else on there myself.

Yeah my 06 crewcab rides good but handles like crap still factory suspension I think some edelbrock shocks would make a world of difference I planning on using them after I lower it. I used them on my 97 silverado with hotchkis suspension was awesome, it wouldn't surprise me if the crewcab has the same springs as the regular cabs because they set so low!

tried 30,32 and the recommended 35 in the door jamb of the truck.
seemed to do best at 35, IMO.

sorry about the late response, i replaced them with belltech street and performance shocks. they are really tight at first, but about a week of driving they loosen up a little and are perfect. they give the truck a very controlled feel, no more endless bouncing on the freeway.

replaced the shocks with monroe something or other.... they had 4 different models.
truck still drove bad.
my dad was pissed off and took the truck back to the tire shop... i told him not to buy firestones in the 1st place.
the guy suggested michelin ltx, so he spent the extra coin. the truck drives great.
no more bouncing.
guess it was in the sidewall of the tire.

needless to say, i told my dad i would get the ltx online for him before he bought the firestones, but he doesnt want any of buying stuff online. he dont even know how to turn a computer on, respectfully.
ended up spending 900 bucks for a set of tires i could have got from discount tire for 540 to my door and had a buddy mount them up for a case of beer.

thanks for the post.
