As I mentioned in my first post, my truck was very wishy washy when not riding on the bump stops...like an old Cadillac with worn shocks and low tire pressure lol. Now that the bump stops just touch, there is a much more positive feel over bumps.

this is getting ridiculous, the front bump stops on a torsion bar suspension are an integral part of the suspension system, because they provide the progressive rate of compression to the suspension. The torsion bars are very different when compared to a coil spring as they load and unload, torsion bars load resistance rate is very linear, as compared to a spring which gets progressively stiffer as its compressed. Torsion bars are designed to have the a-arms just barely kissing the big squishy bump stops to provide the progressively stiffer rate of compression. If the t-bar is cranked any more than about a half inch off of the bump stop it can make the ride SEEM smother, but there are problems that arise with doing so. The front end can feel very floaty and have wheel hop around bumpy corners where the front tires literally bounce around skipping sideways uncontrollably, leading a driver to over-correct only which can be even more dangerous once traction is regained, because lets face it if your over cranking your t-bars its because the truck is lifted and any vehicle with that high of a center of gravity will roll that much easier.

This is basically the point I was trying to make when I mentioned how my truck reacted with the bump stops too short...

in a week or two im planning on lowering the rear 2 more inches with 2in hangers and the front with 2 inch spindles, decranking tbars, and shocks to match my lowering job....i dont want to spend money on labor getting it done..
if there's anyway some that has done it before please tell me how to do it so i can just pay for the parts and be satisfied that i lowered my own truck...its a 99 z71(btw i took out my stock lift blocks and put in 2 inch drop shackles and its a good ride in back but saggin cali style for now) thanx!!!!

On mine I removed the blocks in the rear, and then put on 2" shackles. In the front I de-cranked the t-bar about 6 turns or so equally on both sides and mine is just a little higher in the back still, but not by much. For bump stops I ordered the short ones from belltech. On the rearend I unbolted the bracket from the frame and bolted the belltech bumpstop right to the frame and on the front when i put in the front bump stops in I just set up the torsion bars where the lca's were just barely touching them, stock shocks working fine for now.

i have taken the block out and decranked the bars, but the back is still higher than the front, where are yall getting the lowering shackles? also if i drop the back 2 more inches do i need to get lowering shocks
Thanks

Basically any lowering company has shackles. Yea you will want to get some new shocks. or you could just buy some shock extenders I guess.
