I don't see how since the defrost can operate off engine water through the heater hoses. If it cycles the ac compressor of course just unplug it. I would do the remote mount. That's what I'm going to do soon.

I have the heat exchanger mounted in front, then the 40k mounted behind in, in the gap created by the radiator top crossmember. Had to trim the backside of the grill for the heat exchanger. I can dig up the pics if you are curious

I too thought about doing a remote set up in back. But honestly its too much work. Ide rather find a way to mount in front if i can

could you guys upload some pics for me? pretty much you have the trans cooler between radiator and condenser and the the intercooler mounted in front?

I have done this twice, one on a 99 and one a 2000 both with 4" intercoolers. You just have to jam it in there and cut the A frame thing and use the intercooler as the hood hold down.

Do not put the trans cooler horizontal or in the back, it will not work near as well.

The AC acts as a dehumidifier for the defrost. Yes you will get hot air out even if you dont have AC, but it will not be dehumidified.

could you supply some pictures? im interested and have seen that set up mentioned somewhere. possibly (most likely) by you
