Are you talking about a posi and all, or just ring and pinion. A complete swap with a carrier and all parts should be around $800 I guess, but not a ring and pinion swap.

Sounds a bit high to me for just ring gear and install. Depending on what brand gears it is I was estimating about 150-200 for the gear, 100 for the install kit, and about 300 for install, I know places that will do install cheaper than thata and are reputable places, but thats just a ballpark number. Is that price including taxes also?

Just talk to the shop. They are suggesting 4.56's. Also said that it would be $997 plus tax!!!!! Im going to start calling around.

It has pretty tall tires for a 2wd. Cant recall the size though.

parts and labor mine was 600 for an entire rearend install and gears (I already had the rear end).
