And replacing them with a ladder bar coil overy set up? I know the benefit of better traction is there but just curious how much weight someone saved by going from leaf springs to ladder bar coil overs.

 

what are you building the ladder bars out of? I would guess a leaf pack weighs around 60lbs.

I never weighed my leaf packs when I removed them for installing new parts on my 1500 sierra but I'd say they only are 30-35lb each. They aren't that heavy, they are easy to hold up and move around when lowering a truck.

 

Fyi....my overload was 15lbs alone so with both removed thats 30lbs dropped

 

Curious for a slightly different reason; what shock and coils will you be running?

I have considered swapping my shock ad coil spring configuration to coilovers for the adjustability.
