Hey nissan guy
How do you feel about going jap and going back?Your nip buddies give you a had time?

LOL well the Titan was great before I threw a blower on it. 14.0's wasn't bad for a stock motor with only bolton's and a tune. My Chevy buddies would always give me hell for buying a Titan....it's all in good fun, but they could never beat me in a race given the same mods and truck size! I will be so happy to get back to some decent aftermarket support! I was the 1st Titan owner to ditch the superchargers piggyback and try custom tuning. The piggyback was really holding back power off the line and now I know why! 1 cracked piston and 3 trannys later ...I give up! Being the solo lab rat is to expensive.

No, I found those pics on the net...They don't have any 2wd in Lafayette, they are all AWD and Black.

Wouldn't you think the 2wd would be a hair quicker @ the track?

14.07 is respectable, you didnt ET it charged? is yours 2x4? the vortec max 2x4s run well with a few bolt-ons and a tune. I am all about a daily driver work truck that will tow.I am guilty of having a pile of parts gathing dust, next is my headers then the radix.Mine has to be dependable when I tow max ratings.Mileage is key also,I went on a 140 mi trip one way, on Wednesday, some say its all down hill from Bend to Portland Or.I punched the computer when I hit the road and this is what it said before I touched down in Portland.Coming home was 3 less but it was a hotter run and burned reg. instead of mid grade. Its what I got near stock but impressed getting this with the mods.Must be a good tune

Never ET'ed her charged, couldn't get the tranny to hold up long enough to make it over to HRP in Houston... to much slip even with a valve body upgrade. I ran some 13.2'@105 via g-tec but the tranny would let go in 1st around 4k rpm or my (Tq peak) so when the tranny let go I was stuck climbing out of 2nd at really low rpm. A couple of times my tranny actaully held all the way to 6k in 1st. When that would happen my 0-60's were 4.9 sec range if I could hook on the street. I assume mid to high 12's if I had the patience to finsh fooling with it! They want a mind blowing 5,500 to bullet proof my tranny plus my piston is cracked and once again I would be a guniea pig cause no one has tried this on a bullet proof deal on a Titan tranny!

I'm 2wd...
b4 the blower..
22mpg@50
20mpg@60
18mpg@70
16mpg@80

I was talking to a titan guy yesterday,he said the best his 4x4 got was 16 MPG driving easy.He had sold his 01 silverado because he was afraid of the cold piston slap. He said it got 18 mpg HWY. no matter how hard he drove it.I told him all the late models have short piston skirts and have some type of engine noise that doesnt hurt a thing.I then told him about your titan grenading with only 6LBS. of boost.

All I can say is drive what you want,if you like modding and going fast buy a GM

I totally agree man GM for modding! Titan parts run anywhere from double to triple on average due to lack of competition and mfg cost on low volume stuff. I would probably have an 11-12 sec truck by now if I would have spent the same amont on perf parts towards a Chevy!

Most of the Titan 4x4 guys get the towing package/more gear to help with larger tires so the mpg takes a small lick there. The addition of LT headers and my tune really helped gas milage. I also don't have the tow package I have the hwy gears, which didn't really affect perfomance due to all the low end on a Titan. If I would have left the truck NA i'm sure she would have a lasted a very long time, u know hopw them japs are. It's unreal the amount of data exchanged between the ECU and TCU on these trucks for safety and to control lockup...So many saftey features to make them last, but when it's time to mod is a pain in the a$$.

I'm not so sure the Titan was mean't to be boosted, still a grey area at this point. Only one company has a blower out and the perfomance sucks if you use the piggyback...thats why I modded the kit. Greddy and NISMO said they were comming out with forced induction but seems like they gave up, it's been many moons and no word. I betcha they fought exactly what I am fighting now with the tranny! The cracked piston could "possibly" be my fault from tuning since I did something diff. Titan has the same tranny as the auto 350z and g35. It fine in stock form and tows loads great but makes you wonder how much more it can really take with a power adder of any kind! Titan is slightly heavier than a sports car...lol! Tq load off the line will is night and day with a 5.6 and a heavy truck. Perhaps if I owned a 350z it would be peace of mind seeing the same tranny in a Titan...I think GMC made a great move putting the same 6spd used in the new 2500's in this new Denali, makes you think it's got some room to play....
