Default Walbro 255 problem, need help

Tried to start the truck the other day and it cranked but didn't start so I knew it was a fuel issue. An old guy saw I was having problems so he came by and told me "it's the pump, hit the gas tank and it should start".

I was thinking the guy must be crazy but kicked the tank as hard as I could anyway. Truck started right away.

It did it again today, same procedure. Both times it was almost out of fuel.

Is the pump on its way out or is it caused because of the low fuel level?

X2. do a fuel pressure test. That will help you diagnose your problems.
