returnless fuel pump
#1
Hey guys, been doing lots of reading/research on a fuel pump. Looks like the walbro gss340 fuel pump is a good choice, I am just looking for a 255lph to support around 500hp na. Plan to get the hot wire kit from racetronix as well.
After doing lots of digging the last few days I have found that some folks will grind a bit off the bottom of the bucket and put the fuel sock on the bottom outside of the butcket AND some will just grind the top opening of the bucket and kind of bend the fuel sock around the pump, then stuff the whole pump/sock assembly into the bucket.
Does anyone have any input or opinions on this and which route to go?

If I was going to replace my pump I would go with one of these.

Providing its a NA system.

Those units were designed as a drop in with existing wiring. If a guy wanted to upgrade the power and ground wire to a heavier gauge it certainly wouldn't hurt. The pump that is in those drop-ins is actually the "Walbro 450."
