Default Out of injector...

How accurate are these online calculators? By their math, it looks like I'll be out of injector after my next round of mods. I currently have the 31 lb/hr 8.1L truck injectors. I conservatively expect to make 375-380 rwhp after the next round of mods. I am looking at the newer GM truck 50 lb/hr flex fuel injectors for an upgrade - part # 12613412. This truck is mainly just a daily driver/work truck, so not looking to spend $1000 on a set of injectors.

They are normally pretty close. What air fuel ratio you run can swing the end number a little though.

Going to the 50's or 52's from the 6.0/6.2 trucks is a great upgrade and they are cheap. All the data is available too, just need to use the LS1 to LS3 spreadsheet to convert the injector data over.

Depends. A lot of them can run a conservative 80% duty cycle assumptions and the BSFC can somewhat depend on where you end up for peak lambda. Since the injectors are easy to change out, you can always do a couple runs (each time getting closer to peak rpm) with the current set and keep a close eye on your duty cycle. If it hits 95%, it's time for new injectors.

After I posted, I realized that I have a set of 36 lb/hr non flex fuel injectors out in the garage. Not a HUGE upgrade, but hopefully enough room for what I am doing. Plus they are free.

free is nice, but why not use the search feature and pick up one of these 50# sets?

because he doesn't need them and therefore can spend the money somewhere else (or put it in the kid's college fund). If he's NA, 36# can easily support 400rwhp. I could understand if he's spending upgrading anyway, why not go a little bigger and give room for more possible future upgrades; buy why spend money you don't need to?
