I followed jake75 thread and byrdman11. In started to cut a hole in my bucket like jakes. But byrdman11 setup was working without it. So i did exactly what he did. No issues at all with stock fpcm, and returnless factory stuff. He said he ran out of pump around 800ish hp

Is there any advantage to cutting a hole in the bucket vs not cutting a hole?

Ya I was texting byrdman he's a good guy very helpful! Just curious why some cut holes and others don't. I've never messed with a aftermarket pumps in stock buckets and such. This is my first real build of any kind. I always liked older lifted trucks but got a nice truck and it was quick and got addicted to modding and kept going and blew it up so time for bigger and that includes a fuel pump! My stock flex fuel pump was maxed out at 598/592 I had a very small fuel pressure drop a few psi but the injectors compensated for it but they were up there at 85% idc when it compensated. So now I got fic 1000cc's and this Walbro 450 and hoping to be in the 750 range but would love to see 800 but don't wanna max out this pump right away...

I had a shop do mine because i didn't have time to get it done. If it was up to me i would not have cut a hole if i knew it wasn't needed! It cost me an extra 300 bucks (new pump and assembly) when i decided to demod and go semi stock

just did a quick hit on my truck and the pressure is still dropping to 38psi range on my truck, same as the stock setup was. I'm not making enough power for the 450 to drop like that. any ideas??

Think it could be sucking the bucket dry? That's what I was worried about but wasn't sure if it would happen...

No its something in the fpcm. My afr is still pig rich. So the fuel is there. Just at a lower psi

Im in contact with ADM performance about a zl1 calibrated fpcm to allow more fuel psi. They run 66psi to make up the difference. Our truck ones only allow 58psi

Let me know how that goes! I'm very curious how it works. Kinda weird how you still have good fuel at 38psi? What idc are your injectors at at 38 psi?
