New AC Delco Fuel Module for my 2000 5.3 Q's...
#1
I got the old module out and the first thing I notice is I'll need to do the #2800 master plug cut and splice. No problem. Read the directions, piece of cake.
The pressure transducer is different and my oem plug wont work so I'm ordering the NOS replacement based on the old one I took off the old module.
The steel retainer ring is shot so I'm ordering a new one.
The old module had a sock on the bottom with 2 cylindrical fittings that fit into 2 bores in the bottom of the fuel bucket, one of which has an o-ring on it.
The new one, (AC Delco), has no sock and only one feed hole that has a rubber check valve in the diameter, apparently the fuel pickup? That's approx. 5/8's in diameter.
Does anybody have an explanation for this difference?
All of the fuel feed, return and vent tubes on the module are identical and I've already cleaned and prepped them for reuse with the new one.
I'm a little concerned about the smaller fuel pickup and the apparent "No filter sock" design.
Help. Thanks!
