Need help asap!!!
I have a 4.8 and after all the cold weather in Ohio over the last few weeks my fuel pressure regulator broke and dumped 3/4 of a tank (36 gallon tank) within 3 miles all over the head. After replacing the regulator the motor idles like complete garbage. Everything is fine as far as compression, leak down, or oil consumption, and the vacuum line on top of the regulator is ok. I need some ideas on where to go from here. This is my daily driver and no performance mods have been done to it.

I haven't been able to check since I don't have a gauge. I replaced the coils that got fuel dumped on them and it helped a little but I noticed when I moved the regulator back and forth it got a little bit better but it still isn't right. Lines seem to be ok, but I can't say with 100% certainty they aren't cracked somewhere small.

I didn't change the regulator myself and it's 20 degrees outside so I really don't feel like pulling it back apart, but it seems like that's where I'm at, at this point.

If you have to drive it daily you might want to feel like getting in that cold! Its a quick job to take apart and see the issue. Did you rev it or anything to see the change on the gauge?

No all I did was turn the key and from what I saw it was suppose to keep pressure. Should I just replace it after I take it off and how far in is that o-ring? I just don't like having to spend another $80 if all I need is an o-ring. Could it be a fuel filter plugging up. Because I did an injector clean before the regulator popped, so I'm wondering if some of the cleaning stuff got through the return?
