Why wouldn't you put a Y in it? Not sure why you would want the extra pump coming into the feed at 90 degrees.

several people run a t fitting. All if the y fittings that I have found are at a 120* angle and wouldn't be much better. That fitting from summit is nice but I'm not going to spend 25+ the other fittings for it

Personally, I'm not convinced the 90 degree fitting was the cause of your failure. I would NOT use those worm gear clamps. They tear into the hose and that could have initiated the failure which was exacerbated by the angulation of the hose. If you notice the tear starts up where the clamp is. Instead use Oetiker clamps.

Yep, I have suggested that in previous threads. Most Home Depot type stores have them also. ( Learned that from TimZ)

It was the combination of both. If that clamp was flipped where the screw was on the bottom, prob would not have had the issue.

Just because people run the hose like that doesn't mean it's right . That's really hard on that pump deadheading like that .
BlackGMCs bucket is how it's done .

Take your time and redo that abortion in your bucket . Then you shouldn't have any problems .
