My 2004 Tahoe did the same exact thing until i replaced the fuel pump assembly. Check Amazon for a cheap OEM Delphi fuel pump.

I would try the plugs before the pump. What is your game plan on removing the broken header bolts? Take the heads off?

I recommend the walbro 255 as well. That is what i run and what i have always ran. No problems. Just make sure you get one with the check valve.

Stew, do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If you can, get it on there for a cold start test. I'd bet that your pump is weak & building pressure really slow.

for you guys swapping to a walbro 255, what are you using to connect the pump to the bucket? i've heard of stories of rubber line cracking and swelling. GM uses that plastic **** that seems to heat shrink on

I have a bunch of the plastic hose in a ton of different sizes. For clamping it goto home depot in the plumbing isle and get some pex compression clamps. I can mail you some hoses if you want.

Yup like Corey said you can use the plastic corrugated line and otiker clamps ,
Racetronix sells them also.

I like using them instead of hose just because that's what the factory did and I've never had an issue .

Yes the 255 fits nice in the factory bucket .

Also good call Corey on getting the one with the check valve , it's been a while and I forget which part# that one is .

are the 255s noise? and the check valve keeps the pressure up when the motor is turned off for the next start?
