Default AN line fitting question

Ive messed with them for years, but have never done this/or have I seen a thread on it.

Can you change the end of an AN hose you have without cutting the hose off any? Meaning if it was a 3 foot -6 hose with a 90* hose end, can i just spin the 90* piece off, put a straight end hose piece ONTO the piece that was already on the SS part of the hose and retighten?

I did it in the scenario above and it tightened easily. Like 98% by hand easily. I realize it had previously been compressed and cut with thread but it seemed too easy IMO.

I have done it before. Its easier with the Russell style fittings vs the Earls ones though because of the way they engage the hose.

Yes, you can do this. Its easy because the inside of the hose has already been compressed for some time now. I have done this with quite a few of my AN fittings changing up my fuel system, and havent had a problem with leaks anywhere. I wouldnt be worried, but thats just my experience.
