Default Is a fuel pump upgrade needed?

I have a 2007 Silverado 5.3 the fuel pump is starting to go out on it as it getting close to the 100k mile mark. I have a few engine mods such as, intake, LT headers, ported and polished factory heads, cam, lifters, valve springs, and a bit more. I also have a wet nitrous setup on it. I have a fully built tranny with a 2800 stall. Since the fuel pump is nearing the end of its days Im going to replace it within the near future and Im curious as to whether I should replace it with the stock pump or if im at the point where it needs better fuel supply. if I replace the pump with an aftermarket one id like to get an injector kit aswell. if anyone has any experience with this subject itd be greatly appreciated; any brand recommendations or model numbers would be awesome
Thanks in advance

what makes you think the fuel pump is "going out"? just because it is close to 100k miles? in my personal experience fuel pumps either work, or go out, there isn't any going...

If your not flex fuel, The best option yet seems to be installing a flex fuel pump.

The reson I say "go out" I because I feel it is starting to do the same thing that my K5 blazer was doing before the fuel pump took a ****. I was just saying the 100k miles makes it believable if you get what I mean. But that is besides the point I guess I should've been more precise with my question. What I'm really trying to get at is if my fuel pump can support my current mods and any mods I do in the future. And if I should replace it with the OEM replacement or an aftermarket one. Thanks

a stock pump will support stock displacement with heads/cam and a wet shot, I've done it and never had an issue. Is there a replacement? Yes, the walbro 255lph (which I sent you a pm about) is a common replacement that will fit right in to the place of the stock pump without a whole lot of effort.

A flex fuel pump is about 200lph and will run about $90 vs walbro is about 255lph $100 vs 340lph pumps $150. Pick your budget based on how far you want to take it. I disagree about the flex fuel being good to 550-600hp. The only way it is lasting that far is if you get big injectors. The ceiling on any fuel component is based on other parts of the fuel system. As for injectors stock injectors are about 24lbs/hr. I would suggest 36lbs as a good budget injector.

They've got numerous people running 500+ rwhp on flex fuel pumps. I don't know for a fact that there 200lph but I highly doubt your correct. Yes, his injectors will limit him but that was not in question and assuming he knew that already.

Just because some one is running 500hp on flex fuel pumps doesn't mean its the right way. The opposite is true about fuel pumps as well. With a 340lph pump the stock injectors will work to a higher horsepower. This is the same argument as with stock casting heads. Just, because it works doesn't mean its right.
