So it isn't suppose to be really tight in there, right? It will be a little loose cause the bucket hat holds it in place?

I don't remember how the hat fits over the pump. If it does and it keeps it from moving around, then thats why I didn't zip tie it.

Thanks Jake, you have been a tremendous help. I will need to get this together this weekend cause the harness from Racetronix is going to take a whole week to get here since they are in Canada...... Sucks.... I hate waiting on parts. Seems like that is all I do lately with the truck.

So finally got the right sock for my 450 and the connectors for the feed line.

I have a few concerns that I hope you guys can alleviate for me.

First of all, I have seen guys zip tie these pumps to the side to secure them. I have done this and as you can see in the pic below, it is sitting a little ****-eyed now. Is this OK?

Secondly, the sock does not really sit very flush on the bottom of the bucket. Is that OK?

Lastly, the stock pump had two inlets in the bottom of it, one to pull fuel from inside the bucket and one to pull fuel through the sock on the outside of the bucket. The walbro doesn't have this. Wouldn't that be more of a risk for starvation?

If you guys can make me feel better about this, I will put it all back together, but I would rather make sure it is right before buttoning it up. If I have to run above a 1/4 of a tank all the time, I think I can live with that since it isn't a DD, and maybe one of these days I will swap to a 03+ tank and bucket.

looks good to me, pretty well what i remember mine looking like.

what hose are you using from the pump to the top of the hat?

be careful when you install the assembly back in, the fuel level wires like to get tangled up

I bought a new flex hose from APE. It is here.

I read from other people that the rubber tend to break down. Can't really go wrong with OEM style.

Glad to hear this is what it should look like. I will just make sure not to run below 1/4 of a tank.

What about the difference in the pumps? Like the OEM had the two inputs, one for inside the bucket and one for outside the bucket. Do you think that would make much difference?

Your fine. I've been running my 450 like that for a while with no issues. I always run my truck to empty and haven't had any starvation issues.
