Aftermarket injector fitment on 5.3L/6.0 truck intake
#1
I have a set of ID725 injectors looking to install in my stock 6.0L truck intake. I've noticed that the injector bore/bung is not stepped like the ls1s are thus it appears that the injectors will only use the upper O-ring seal. I know that the truck injectors have a little cap that needs to be removed if using them on LS1 intakes because of this difference in the injector bore in the intake. I'm actually trying to do the opposite thus I'm not sure if this will be a problem since this cap is not interchangable with other injectors.
Looking at other aftermarket injectors even ones that are labeled direct fit they all look to have this same stepped feature. I've tried finding an answer to this on several forums but not sure if its an issue or not. I've also posted this question over on LS1tech as well but I figure there are probably more folks running this intake here.
Any help would be appreciated. I was hoping to keep the stock I take albeit it's one of the ugliest ones out there.
Including a pic of the two injectors side by side. The length shouldn't be an issue as I'll mod the fuel rail a little.
