Default 2004 Silverado evap line 4.8 too long?

Ordered fuel lines for 2004 Silverado 4.8 engine from GM got them fuel supply line fits but the evap line appears to be about 4 inches too long, it goes past connection on end of tank. Check part number it is correct # got another oem line and it is same issue. When the flex connections of both lines are matched the evap line is too long from the flex connection to the end at the tank, the frt seems to be correct at rear of engine behind the LH cylinder head where it connects. Am I missing something? anyone else had an issue?
Found the issue and had to get another tank because of rust....
