Stillen Titan
#1
Well there is finally a spec on the big, bad Stillen Titan with the supercharger. I can sum it up in two words "Not Impressed".
$6k for a supercharger and some other stuff they sell and it ran a gutless 14.5@97.7. The numbers come from the May 2006 Motor Trend. They say it lights up the tires at low speed. But looking at the trap speed, there is no way that supercharger with supporting mods is adding 140hp like they claim. My nitrous was only set with 65hp jets and it was running high 13s@98mph. And then I was turning 14.6s with just a CAI, cat-back exhaust, and tires.
I wish someone would produce a power adder that worked other than nitrous. Heck a programmer would be nice. The truck has been out for 2 years and still no programmer.
Feel free to flame - I'm not even going to attempt to defend Stillen on this lousy result.

We talked about this alot...check it out and tell me what u think...i think the trutrac will justify the mod...just need more traction if you have 2 baby it down the 1/4 to produce a good time how can you produce a good trap speed?

The trutrac would help.
The reason I'm beating on it is because traction or not, it should be trapping a much higher mph than that. It is simply not making the power they are saying it is. A 7 mph gain indicates a roughly 70hp gain. Why should I back something that doesn't work? Results like this will hopefully fuel competitors to make stuff that works. My opinion is that I'm telling it like it is. I have nothing to gain or lose by reporting these results despite me liking the Titan very much and missing my old one from time to time.
I have nothing against the Titan - just this Stillen product. That's my intent, anyway. We're going to get monkey doo hurled at us anyway.

If it had a real traction problem, the trap speed would be higher. Every vehicle I've ever watched run down the track that spun out of the hole had a great trap speed but a shitty E.T. I think at this point it's your guys' overbearing ECU that's holding it back. I can't believe that nobody has come out with anything good yet.
I would take MT's test with a grain of salt. They tested a Lightning at like 14.3. We all know they run faster than that.

We all know these numbers arent accurate. Different tracks on different days will effect the times and trap speed.
