Yeah they do custom stuff. I had a friend with a Dodge ram that talked to them about doing an 80 on his truck and they were going to do a custom plate to get it to fit.

Its hard reading that because I own and operate a successful transmission shop but I also agree that sadly its true- The shops and rebuilders that are either uneducated, drunks or addicts outweigh the good by far. However I feel the same way about tuners. I have been to alot of the best looking for everyone elses ( runs and idles like stock) and definetly get shafted. Go there already being burned and explain if you think it needs or could benifit from something just do it or drive it home for a week and basically what ever it takes to make it right. However TJ at Baker engineered racing engines has made me believe there are some good ones out there. On another note I do custom applications all the time, Ive got a c5 vette with a 4l80e and paddle shifters using retro tek speeds paddles.I will have a 69 camaro in shortly for a 4l80e and paddle shifter from twist machine and tci controller. We have a cnc machine and have done vette limo conversions and supra th400 conversions. I can understand the frustration- the $12,000 has already been spent and really nothing left to show. Is your truck 2wd or 4wd? Ive got plenty of cores ! Mason

I can say that Performabuilt does good work. I have had their L3 60e in my truck for over a year and it is still working good. Look at my sig for the abuse it has withstood. I'm upgrading to a FLT L5 80e soon for a little extra safety since I use my truck to pull my car to the track.

Performabuilt has been working great the thing that sold me on them was if u have problems they send u a new tranny and u send the trouble one back to them so down time is at a min. The 6l80 from tci with paddle shifters and controler might be a good one for you also hope u find a solution

Supersub's stock 4L80E with a stock converter has made a believer out of me. Yes, he did add a Transgo shift kit. I couldn't tell you how many miles he has on that particular transmmission, but he ain't scared to push it... and that's a fact, Jack.

i guess if thier is any kind of brightside to all this madness atleast i can work unlimited overtime at my job@ Bell Helicopter.. think it'll take me another 7-9 months to save up 7k for the 4L80E, controller, adapter, and then will need another 6-8k for a motec standalone ecu cause i know once my ecu cant talk to the tcm of my trans it'll probably self destruct the truck, and im not joking.. damn ecu is the devil in this damn thing..
