Tundra, Titan or 2500HD?
Well...I looked at everything yest! I had my heart set on an 08 2500HD, but incentives at GM are weak, and prices were $5k higher than the Jappers, with absolutely no options on the truck I was quoted. The Nissan gets some poor consumer reviews but the Tundra has some good feedback, better/bigger motor than Nissan, and more torq and hp. Over here in SW CT there are no deals frankly but the Nissan/Toyota guys want their trucks off their inventory. Both were quoted list $37k and both offered to me @ $31k before I even bargained! Prob gonna do the Tundra. The 2500HD was $37k list and they offered it to me @ $35k - $1500 cash back and Gm Family discount $900 still leaves me @ $32600 and 3.9% financing v 0% with the Japs...The GM guys disappoint me especially as I bot my TBSS there 10mos ago!
I just gotta find black wheels that'll fit the Tundra?

Naw...dont really need the 2500, and i told the dealer to present the 1500 option if he had one, but he instead wanted me to tell him how much I was willing to pay...when I suggested he get prices closer to the ricers all I heard was crickets. I told him if he wants to sell me a truck he better get creative. How many guys u know have 4 SUV/trucks with gas @$4?! First truck I ever owned was 1989 Pfinder SE...its still on the road!

Titan's around here have $5,500 rebate and Ford f-150 just came out with a $7,500 rebate. Dollar per dollar the titan will be the best deal with nissan looking to step out of the fullsize market by 2010...

naw...never told them what I was willing to pay until they showed their price. They offered the Tundra for $33k, and if I pay cash they will take another $3k off. Nissan is $32k, Honda Ridgeline (which I actually kinda like) was $31.5k - but this one was the top of the line (leather, Nav, ext warranty...etc) v the other 2 that were cloth, base stereo...etc. I showed Honda a $30k bid...lets see what they do. I told Toyota same # and they said only if I paid cash...I said my cash bid was $28.5k. Chev wanted $34.5k and that was their best price after $1500 rebate...no other incentives. These prices are all out the door incl tax ...etc.
PS...specs on all these trucks interiors are very similar for roominess. Tundra is essentially a 2500 in all aspects and actually has quite a bit more torque and HP (30 or 40 I think), 6sp tranny, tiptronic shifting...etc. Only prob is tough to find aftermarket wheels (5x150 bolt pattern).

Not sure which trim line of Titan you're looking at, but you should be able to get (about) 12K off sticker, easily, on a new Titan. Nissan wants them gone, bad! Carmax in the DC area recently had several Titans they were practially giving away- a new Pro-4X for less than 25K.
If you are serious about the Titan, check out some of their forums and you'll probably see the consumer worries aren't that bad.
As for the Tundra, nice truck and pretty quick for stock. Watched one run a low 14, with paper tags.
Honda's are nice too, but built on a car platform, and smaller size than either the Titan or the Tundra.
Best bang for your buck, if that's your thing, is the Titan.
Good luck in your search!

Rumor has is that Nissan is teaming up with, ugh, Dodge to build the Titan. Nissan will use it's practically new Mississippi plant to build smaller cars, and use Dodge's assembly to build the Titan. How that will impact the Titan overall, not sure, but it can't be good....

They have XE Titan Crew Cabs for $17,995 here, ultimate stripper model... What options are you looking for, I find that each make has different base options and packages.
