Default Ford V10?

How are the V10's in F250's, etc...Towing? MPG's? Longevity? Looking to get a 3/4 ton truck, and noticed I can find these at a decent price.

Thanks,

-Will

My old company truck was a V10 F250. It had good power, but got only 13mpg on long trips unloaded. The truck held up pretty well, but the tranny went out right before 200k.

I friend of mine has a excursion with the 2 valve V10. he gets about 12ish mpg unloaded and when he tows a 4 place snowmobile trailer he gets 8-9 mpg. He drives like a grandpa and the tach never see's above 3k so I don't think you could get much better mileage

That's what I've heard about the V10. They have plenty of power and the love to drink the fuel.
