Default rebuild or new engine and the costs of both?

I'm wonderin how much it would cost to rebuild a 4.6 in a 1997 f-150 done professionally and then just how much the rebuild kit itself would cost and the difficulty of rebuilding the engine.... I was also wondering if I would just be better off finding another 4.6 and dropping it in? possibly from the junkyard? about how much would a semi-low milage 4.6 run me? How much would it be to convert it to a 5.4?
Thanks,
Dan

Go online and search for an engine builder that does the mod motors. Power costs money and aluminum is more expensive. Just stay at 5.4L to keep horrendous expenses out of the question. I found a local builder that is going to be making 4v heads soon. 2v is cheaper unless you're trying to beat what a 5.4L can give you. Internal components need replacement with better aftermarket pieces if you are looking for high horses.
