But seriously you need to be more specific on what you want out of your F-150
For example. ALL OUT SPEED or towing??
How fast do you want to go?
How much money are you looking to spend?
Is it bone stock?
What year?
What motor etc.etc.etc.!!!

Thanks,
Derek

To get what from it? For most any application the first place to start would be a better flowing intake and exhaust if there are any restrictions there. Tuning will then free up any available hp left on the table from the factory.

Welcome to PT.net. Look around and search the forum, there is plenty of info available to help get you started

they biggest deal on what makes the ford slow is the tranny get a shift kit and programmer exhaust really dont help any fords that i have owned but that is a must have anyway and under drive pulleys are amazing and of course a cold air

what year f150. ford do not adapt as the gm's do to mods. they tend to run a little lean. and exhaust and a cold air intake should be first. then begin looking at tuners. there are some here on the boards and plenty more on the net. it is all going to depend on how much money you want or can spend/

Get a tuner first. I suggest a SCT x3 myself. Of course the intake assy from the air filter element to the intake is a restriction. The exhaust is also a restriction too. You can change just the muffler or get a whole cat back system. I replaced my air filter element with a piece from K&N and modified the air box and that was felt right off.

Easy way to think about is the engine is built with restriction into it by the factory. I was alway taught to do exhaust first because its not good if you cant get rid of what your trying to put in it. then intake and module. then you can look into bigger throttle bodies, headers and such.

think of it as a giant air pump. You need to be able to push out your air before you can put more in (unless you have a super charger)
