i was wondering if any of you ford guys are doing this???? my buddy has a f-150 4.2 5spd and he recently paid it off. now he wants to put a v8 in it. if it were a chevy id be done swapping a motor in it but, thats not the case. motor with harness and computer is obvious but, what are our options for motors to bolt in if any? what years of electrical crap are going to work? and keeping the 5 spd is a must so, will the bolt patterns be the same?

 

none of the ford folks have swapped motors?

i havent done it but i believe the bell bolt pattern is the same. my 98 is a 4.6 5spd.

 

a guy that comes into my work swapped a 4.6 v8 into his f150 so it is possible

 

the 5 speed behind a 4.2 will not work with a 4.6 or 5.4 ,the 5 speed behind the 4.2 is the same bolt pattarn as a 302 351, im doin the same swap but thats about as far as i got so far
