Just in the middle of my z06 cam install on my 5.3. I was wondering if anyone has run this cam with a magnacharger? If so who did you have tune your computer for this? I know the 5500 shift point is going to be way to low for this cam on the stock magnacharger tune. Any estimates on horsepower pickup? How much would a tune help?

It'll run fine with the current tune, the zo6 cam is very tame.

The pcm will need a few adjustments to compliment the cam, but it'll be ok until you get around to it.

dc justin from blackbear performance did mine. i know he has the dyno numbers so you can ask him. it made a BIG difference though.

 

thought about springs/retainers and letting it rev a lil more? that cam peaks a bit higher than the truck cams, but works VERY well for a stock cam with boost...

 

I am doing the ls6 springs today. I want to go out and drive this bad! I had another question how much does altitiude affect boost? It seems like I have more boost when I run at sea level than up here in the hills

Just took it for a drive pulls harder than it use to after about 3000rpm. Cant wait to get it tuned and the headers installed and see what it feels like then.
