Default Worth header change ?

I have tri y 1 5-8 going to 2 1/2 y then 3 inch muffler on my 2010 5.3.

I have tvs 1900 and stepping it up to 8.5 to 9 psi from 5.5 and adding a eps cam.
What am I losing rwhp wise ? Thinking 1 7/8 headers to true duals 3" mufflers
Thx guys

What cam are you running? How high are you revving the setup?

IMHO, unless it's a pretty radical setup, you don't need 1 7/8" headers for most 8-9 psi 5.3's.

Now, if you're maxing out the 5.3 with 14-15 psi, and heads & cam etc, and shooting for 600+ rwhp, then you will be better off with the bigger headers & exhaust.

It is my opinion that you can never over exhaust a blown deal. How much will you gain..........who knows.

...fixed.. You will prob drop a pound or two of boost but the power and efficiency will raise. The downside will be $ and noise.

No doubt better flowing exhaust will help.

I read an article where they tried a few different engine/blower combos and changing exhaust. On the N/A set up, the difference in power was substantial. I think like 80-100hp. On the blown engine, it was like 10hp. I think the combo made 500hp NA and 1000 with blower.

Not the original article but one along the same lines.

Thx for replies, mixed comments. Would modifying my ypipe to 3 inch and just true duals with 3 inch mufflers be a good idea. ?
