Allen and I set my fuel cutoff to 6200 and I shift at 5800 WOT 1-2..... have actually hit the limiter a couple times at 6200 when I first installed the stall convertor... had to drop my MPH parameter for 1-2 shift by 5 mph to solve that issue.... been running that way since September 2005.... all is good...

The Vortech just laughs when it gets there... it wants more....

My target afr is 11.0. I dont know my duty cycle but I am sure it is up there. I have the 42lbs injectors. I spin the motor to 5500-6000 at 17psi and I was ok (11.2 afr). (limitor is 6000) I am running lean at 20psi due to the computer's inability to read the MAF over 600hp. I lean out at 4500rpm at 20psi. (thats 630hp and 684tq on the stock bottom end 5.3 and 42 lbs inj) I do have low compression thow. Just a little info on the my setup with the 42lbs inj.

Hey Kev, I have a 5.3 with bolt ons and a cam with some minor internal work to go with it. I don't have a intercooler either. My truck is Pretty much constantly running about 14 PSI. I do have methanol injection though. I have a snow performance stage 2 kit I believe, with the window switch box, and the truck only sees 14 psi when the methanol is on. when the meth is swithched off, im runnin bout 6-8 psi max. You, will want to do the IAT mod and move the IAT readings after the meth spray. I do have 43 lb injectors and they work fine. You definitely have to have a professional tuner dyno tune your vehicle though. that is the key. I have a handheld that i plug in to see engine vitals like IAT's and such which help a lot. The intercooler will go in on the 13th and that will give me some reassurance. I have started to get that burning oil smell and bluish black puffs from the exhaust on throttle. All the power is there though. We did some tests and the motor is fine, seems like I have a oil pump or resitor problem which is 90% of the time the problem. Someone mentioned about seals in the turbo, but the turbo doesnt have any. ne way, the best Dyno i had non-intercooled to date is 468 RWHP / 588 RWTQ. If ure curious to my setup, mods are on the New Members Section. Hope I Helped

Hey Twisted

What minor internal work? Mine is stock bottom @12 psi since September 2005. I moved my IAT sensor to just prior to TB and I spray about 8" before that. I tune my own with HP tuners and watch the AFR up top..I actually err to the rich side... usually 11.2 - 11.5 but will move to 11.8 - 12.2 when I need an extra kick....

With a stock motor and blower @12 psi, I dynoed 403 RWHP on a Mustang dyno.... that was with 42# injectors but I was seeing high duty cycles.... Again with my returnless fuel system... after adding the 60# injectors, Stage 2 heads, cam, and 1.85 accelerated lift rockers, I dyno'd north of 500 RWHP on a slightly rich tune....

My truck is a daily driver and is fun as hell around town..... I say a stock bottom can handle 12-14 psi with the right tune and a cam and heads make it that much better... I consistently see 65 lb/min of airflow at 185 kPA on this motor....

"Hey Twisted

What minor internal work?"

As far as internal motor work. I have a Cam with some lil stuff like hardened seats, stock lenth pushrods, titanium retainers and such. Pretty much stock bottom end, Rockers, and stock heads. Non-intercooled 468rwhp and 588#s of RWTQ is pretty good I'd say. I haven't done the IAT mod yet either.

In the MAF sensor, if you look though it, there's a little bulb looking thing sticking out into it, that the IAT sensor. That's why there is 5 wires going to it.
