Default Will a Magnacharger work for heavy towing?

Im selling my Dmax, and getting a 6.0L2500HD Rc, 4X4. I will be towing 8-9k from Colorado to California, about 2-3 times a year. I would go with a Trick front mount, but the truck is going to be registerd in CA, and needs to remain smog leagle. Will the magnacharger work for this? Im only planning on running a max of 5psi while towing. Im really just trying to make the truck perform at my elevation. A stock 6.0 will only make about 150RWHP up hear. Hate to have to get rid of the Dmax, but I just can't afford it right now.

No Problem as long as you keep it in the sanity side . Magnuson uses their HD 2500 to tow a big 5th wheel loaded coast to coast with a 5 lb kit on it all the time.

Why do you have to get rid of your DMax? The last two tanks on mine were over 22mpg. If you have to run gasoline, either the radix or the trick should give you a good boost over the stock 6.0. I have a 5.3 pressurized by radix and my son has a 5.7 with a front mount trick turbo. Both are pretty stout. I haven't towed with the trick, but the radix isn't scared of a trailer. 20mph burnouts while towing a trailer is pretty sick. I didn't do it, but a buddy of mine couldn't resist the power.

The Dmax is my 2nd truck, and I only tow 2-3 times a year. I drive my 1/2 ton 03 Reg cab most of the time. The best MPG I see is 17-18Highway, and 10-12 in town. My 6.0L 1/2 ton with a Trick FM T76 gets that. Diesel prices, combined with a high payment, are starting to cramp me a bit.Need to add on to my garage this summer, and wan't to buy a condominum,(to rent out) this spring. Also wife has a new 08 1/2 ton.

Why don't you just trade me that Dmax for my truck. I will drive out and pick it up while delivering mine.

My Dmax has almost 200K on the clock. I thought about updating to a newer 2500hd gas, but couldn't pull the trigger. My '03Dmax is paid for and still running strong. Diesiel prices are out of sync with gas, but not so bad that I'm willing to trade a good running paid for diesel for a new truck with a huge price tag.

I still have 41/2 years of payments left. I can afford to make the payments, but this thing is cutting into my play money. I have neglected my 70. It needs a stronger rear end, and I haven't touched the engine in over 4 years. I have a couple people I need to deal with, and I can't because I have all these payments. They know this, and think they are in the clear. I get called out at least once a week. I build engines for a living so the way my stuff runs reflects back on business.

Would it be bad to be towing say only 4,000 lb's with a forged motor on 10 lb's? My only thought is that it would be bad if you kept it in high rpm's for a long time. If you keep it off cruise and play with the throttle in hills it should be fine right?

towing with the radix should be fine. I used to tow with my lifted v6 tacoma all the time that had a TRD S/C, Towed 3 sleds up the pass at 80 no problem. never skipped a beat with that blower, don't see why a GM wouldn't tow well with similar setup.

Ive towed 8,000 lbs. with my turbo @ 10 psi across town, no issues with that either.
