Depends on the level of boost. I built a 10.2:1 408 that is gonna see 6lbs and my tuner doesnt think its a problem. Id say less than 10lbs, youre fine. The LS2 is 10.9:1 and ppl run ridiculous boost on it all the time

Should be just fine long as the timing isn't too aggressive. 7 lbs would likely be a good choice but with 8-10 just a little less timing so a little less power out of boost but worth it.

changed plans a bit

lq4 30 over
823 heads un touched
stock truck intake with 50lb injectors
remap FPCM to LSA settings

stock crank
stock rods and weisco 4032 pistons
9.5/9.75:1 compression
d1 procharger 8-10psi W/ air to water
BTR stage 2 truck cam- the LS6 spring unit

still think i should be able to lay down 5XX ?

Still no problem. Ppl make more with less

The .03 overbore will increase compression, as will the heads. So is the ~9.5 you quoted taking into account the head CC and bore size?

Make sure you get the rotating assembly balanced, but 500 will be no issue at peak power rpm

You have press fit rods? Is that the issue?

I did the math for you: 0 deck that pig, OEM gaskets on a 68cc head and 4.03 bore/3.622 stroke : 9.6:1 with a -10cc piston

should be easy to find a -10 4.03 piston, unless your issue is the pin diameter

the big hold ups are using a stock length rod 6.098 and a forged piston that is not 2618 forging,

why are you concerned with the alloy? hoping to avoid piston knock when its cold?

Truthfully, a hypereutectic aftermarket piston in a 4.03 will get you where you want to be too, and be much cheaper

TSP has affordable rod/pin/piston/ring combos. Sometimes they are $8-900 depending on sales and time of year

dont want the knocking as it is a every day use truck, will use normal D bag style driving abuse along with towing the toys in the summers, so figured id avoid cast and get some extra strength and avoid the noise

was looking at TSP kits but they all seem to be the 2618 forged - mind you i have not looked recently
