How come so many of you guys stick with the stock converter? Most of you are blown, but I'd think a little stall would be of some benefit...

1) cant afford it
2) cant afford it cause it cost more than half the build.
3) it will do just fine.

In a 4wd you can brake stall a stock 80e converter pretty high. Wilde Racing got a stock 80e converter to brake stall to 3200 in 4hi. Ill probably run a stock converter for a little while too. Unless I have some extra money laying around at the time.

I may end using the converter that comes with my 80e. Just good to save for now. Plus the blower doesn't care as much with the lower stall converter. We will see...

I can stall my 80E converter to about 2500 after I went to hydroboost. And I'm 2wd with barely any power.

My stock 4L80E TC flashes to 2400-2500 pretty regularily. I did pick up a Circle-D 268mm (Cadilac FWD TC) single disc from Chris to install when I swap out my longblock. It should flash to about 2700 at 10lbs and a little higher qwhen I turn up the boost.

I like my stock 80e converter. Works just fine with my little pig.
