Whipple or Radix (06 4.8)?
#1
i cant decide. should i buy a whipple or a radix for my truck. i want to go fast but im not planning on making it an "all out" racer. would the radix intercooler be worth it considering i live where it gets to be 110? im stuck here guys. whipple=3k radix=almost 4k too....make the decision for me!

If you want a bolt on kit with no mods involved then by all means get a Radix. With those types of Temperatures you will NEED a intercooler for sure. With the intentions you mentioned I think the Radix will fit your needs very well. The Radix Kit may be more $ but it comes with more stuff ( Fuel system upgrades, Intercooler, etc) Dont get the non intercooled Radix kit with it being that hot where you live....

most on here will recommend the radix because it is the most complete kit
they have great customer service (they are a sponsor)
whipples electronics suck whipple=pigyback(9th injector) radix= 8 new bigger injectors
you will highly appreciate the intercooler in the high heat time of year
more people have the radix so there will be more tech support
idk abut whipple but you should get 10psi or more with a smaller pulley on a radix
several people have made 500+rwhp on a radix

Shop around for a used Radix. Ive got $3,200 in mine. I got it from a member here for $2,500. It had a bearing go bad and screwed up the rotors. I sent it to magnason and had them put a rotor pack in it. I also needed a fuel manifold, fuel pump, and tuner to make it work with my truck. The rotor pack and parts I needed cost me $700. There are deals to be had, you just have to wait for them to show up. I would definetly go with the Radix if I were you. Especially if it gets hot where you live.

+1 whipple
there are benefits to both if you want bolt on and go then radix, if you want more power and better ET's whipple but Id be prepared to get 42 lbers and a custome tune which youll end up with anyway.
