redoing my tune. I've been running 16-17* of timing during the winter. i was wondering if i should raise it a bit or if i should just leave it and raise the boost. I'm running meth.......well -20 windshield washer fluid.
so what timing are you running and at what pressure. i would also like to know if your stock motor or not.

17* is a good number. Most tunes I see from professionals use this number. With the meth, if you run the meth all the time then you could up that a few degrees. 19* would be very doable. What is your boost level? What motor?
I don't use meth on the street and I get away with 19* to 20* at 8.5#'s of boost with the radix. Of course, I couldn't keep that timing for long with that heat box but, with a turbo and meth you should easily be able to get 19* out of your setup. At the track with 110 gas and meth I throw 25* at my setup. LOL, yeah...not advised.

17 here original tune is setup for non intercooled whipple 9.5psi.
Now at 11psi intercooled with same tune.
I did hear it detenation at 12psi. though.
I know I am playing with fire at this point but I got a spare motor in garage.

well i've been running 16-17* with 10psi daily for the past year or so. i got the new turbo and had a problem where my wastegate seems to be too small. it would allow boost to go to about 13psi. it ran that boost no problem with KR. but i wasn't sure how long it would be good for. so i installed another gate that gives about 7psi but it is boring. on my high boost setting it gives me 10psi like i had before but it doesn't feel near as fast. also with the new gate it peaks at 10psi right before and during a shift. this bugs the crap out of me.
with this being said. I'm trying to see if more timing will give me my fun back or if i should just throw the old gate on it and call it a day. i keep forgetting that I'm at 9:1 scr now vise the stock 9.5:1 due to port and polished ls6 heads. the power difference between the old gate and new is unbelievable. the wife got in it to drive and was like WTF it seems so slow. so i know its not just me.
i do run the meth year around. i use about a bottle of -20 WWF a week or so. i have the m15 nozzle with the "large" pump. going by sts's install instructions. i took the meth kit of a sts equipped truck. the guy went N/A and said if i do the uninstall/install i could have what i wanted off the truck. the kit is pretty cool it injects with injector pulse width.
