you want to load up the turbo so 3.73's or even 3.42's will be better. Good luck with the trans....4L80 ftw.

What about tranny? Rear end?

boost doesn't mean changing head gaskets a lot and what is an "extensive" motor swap? it is a direct replacement. pull one and drop in the other.

you would have to have a prety radical 6.0 to be as quick as a mild 4.8 turbo set up. your 2 options there are kind of limiting yourself. help us help you by giving us more info. how fast do you want to go? still want to be able to tow 8000lbs? how much money ya got?

for a fun and cheapish set up i like a mild camed 6.0 with a stall you can get a lq4 for $850 around here. then a 01 ls6 cam for ~100 and some springs for a few bucks. the stall hurts to buy but it makes a huge diference. then a tune of course. your tranny might even last awhile with this set up. lots of fun for the money.

wow, would an LS6 cam really make good power in an N/A 6.0? I always kinda figured bigger is better, but then the power range is more up top as well..

I would have to say the turbo 4.8 would be faster. Even more so if u get some ARP head studs.. Thats all KBracing96 really had to do and he coulda turned up the boost (as far as I have heard). But it all depends on what u wanna do. I think I may end up keeping my 4.8 N/A and seeing how hard I can push it. Maybe even change out some internals for hopes of more power.
Pick a path and go ***** out till something breaks, then rebuild and repeat.

Turbo 4.8 all the way. DD or not. It will make more avg power, be less impervious to weather, get better gas mileage and get you well into the low 12's if not the 11's being a RCSB and all. Unless you live in RGV, you're not going to get that with a mild NA 6.0. A properly setup turbo 4.8 will cost a lot more than a mild NA 6.0 though. As stated though, if you're towing, a turbo 4.8 with a big converter isn't for you.

Edit: Just don't let it lean out on you, #7 won't like it.

I'm with the majority here, turbo 4.8. Mine did very well. If your nice to it the tranny will hold up just fine, at least mine did.

My truck is a lot heaver then yours (5450#'s with me in race trim) being an xcab and 4x4, and my best was a 12.58 @ 107 with the 4.8, 210/218 .551/.551 116, lsa cam, TB converter, TG shift kit and a MP T-70 intercooled FM turbo running about 12 psi of boost and meth.
