Default what should i do? be different or do whats best?

hey guys i have been wondering- i would like to build my 4.3L and all but even cryoing the block and using all forged internals my lil 4.3L could only make around 600whp and be unreliable and very hard to drive..... but be very different-


my other option is to swap an LQ motor into it with a custom grind cam/ls6 heads, and maybe some new pistons/rings and boost the **** out of it- this would be more reliable and easier to DD and take on long trips- plus its gonna be cheaper


with a th400 with brake behind both options

what do you guys think i should do?

Buy my ole 4.8, harness and computer. A cheap way to enter the LSX engine world.

i can deal with a smaller engine and a 4.8L i could deal with..... are they very strong???? whats the weakest link in the 4.8L- can i use LS6 heads and an LS6 cam?

you could use those heads but you'd have to be boosted alot because LS6=5.7l so that would considerably drop your compression but the 4.8's seems to like the boost though. check out 8alting, he's made some nice power. i would have to say they are just as strong as the other LSx but you'll have to watch out for rods and pistons, rings and ring lands

They are strong and this one is clean and complete . wires, plugs, coils, exhaust ,rails injectors ,tb ,wiring harness ,ps, alternator, and balancer. ...and computer(pcm) I would not mess with the heads, but a vette cam and a turbo would scream. Look at what kbracing does w/ a 4.8 in a ext cab. You are in Fla too. I could deliever it to you. Look how clean it is.





I took the valve cover off to build a custom oil inlet for my turbo. Let me know what you think. I am in no hurry.

i would throw new pistons/rods/rings in it before hand- i would like to drop the compression a bit more to be more boost friendly on pump gas- with pistons/rods/rings you think th 4.8L could hold 650whp?

8ALTNG- your in the 11's? whats your set-up----

slowec pm me a price.... i wont need the full exhaust other then the headers
